AUSTIN (Nexstar) — After two previous attempts that were delayed by parliamentarian moves, the Texas House advanced a bill that would ban gender transition care for Texas minors. Senate Bill 14 passed the Texas House on second reading. The bill still needs final approval on third reading to advance. That vote has yet to be scheduled, but will likely come Monday.Texas House Democrats twice leveled a successful procedural objection to SB 14 last week, presenting a roadblock to the Republican priority legislation after a vote was delayed earlier in the week when opponents filled the chamber’s gallery in protest.LGBTQ protesters marched to the Capitol on Friday morning to again oppose the legislation, saying it presents great harm to transgender youth and takes control away from parents and guardians. The Twins were well aware of the shoulder injury Tyler Mahle sustained last July while with the Cincinnati Reds, just weeks before they traded for him.But they still felt confident in the information they had at the time, making the decision to part with three prospects — more on them later — to bolster a rotation for a then first-place team that needed pitching help. Mahle, the Twins hoped, would help pitch them to a playoff spot and would be an important piece of this year’s rotation, as well.Of course, it didn’t work out that way.The Twins announced Thursday that Mahle, who is a free agent after this season, will undergo Tommy John surgery. With that announcement, it’s very likely that Mahle has thrown his last pitch as a Twin. But while the Twins didn’t get anywhere near the production from Mahle they had hoped for, president of baseball operations Derek Falvey expressed confidence in the team’s process.“Our view of Tyler was that there was some shoulder strain...Pipe Bomb Destroyed at Fort Plain residence

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -Pearl Street Diner owners, Anthony and Lucia Mitsios, say panhandling has always been in the area. Recently, though, they have seen a change from people asking for money to confrontations in their diner."My family has been in Albany for over 30 years and this is the worst that I have seen it. When it becomes aggressive and people start feeling uncomfortable to come to work, it's not okay," explained Anthony Mitsios. First Friday returns to Albany To come up with solutions, the Mitsios family invited fellow business owners and Albany officials to the diner. The Albany police department continues to respond to threats in the area, but are not legally able to offer the services considered 'quality of life'. Police say they cannot issue an arrest due to homelessness or passive panhandling. "If people feel uncomfortable and they don't know, then give us a call and we will certainly come out and assess the situation," stated Albany Police Chief, Eric Hawkins. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — On Friday, Elon Musk announced that NBC Universal’s Linda Yaccarino will serve as the new CEO of Twitter. Yaccarino is a longtime advertising executive credited with integrating and digitizing ad sales at NBCU. Her challenge now will be to woo back advertisers that have fled Twitter since Musk acquired it last year for $44 billion.Since taking ownership, Musk has fired thousands of Twitter employees, largely scrapped the trust-and-safety team responsible for keeping the site free of hate speech, harassment and misinformation, and blamed others — particularly mainstream media organizations, which he views as untrustworthy “competitors” to Twitter for ad dollars — for exaggerating Twitter’s problems. In April, the two met for an on-stage conversation at a marketing convention in Miami Beach, Florida. Here are some highlights of their conversation:MUSK AND YACCARINO SPAR OVER CONTENT MODERATIONThe Miami discussion was cordial, although both participants ...Rodríguez homers and drives in 4 to lead Mariners past Tigers 9-2
